A memory and drive cleaning program

Memory Doctor Pro deletes files on your computer and frees up a little space by removing unused data from your computer. It is a paid program, but there is a free trial if you would like to try it before you buy it.

Wipe temporary files from your computer

Memory Doctor Pro is like all other memory/drive cleaning programs in that it doesn't do anything that you cannot do manually via your computer controls. It simply puts most of your cleaning and deleting functionalities in one place. It clears your temporary files, your recycle bin, and most of your cache files. Despite its claims, it will not speed up your computer, but it will save you time if you are the sort of person who regularly clears his or her computer of temp files, cache files and binned files. The program does leave file fragments behind when you uninstall it after the free trial as well as after uninstalling the paid version.

Not good and not bad

Memory Doctor Pro is a lot like most drive cleaners in that it clears most of your temporary files that would have been deleted anyway if you had restarted your computer. It does leave file fragments behind, which most programs in the cleaning industry do, and it exaggerates about the amount of information it clears from your computer when you run it for the first time. Yet, most of the memory/drive cleaning programs you find are going to be useless and/or ways to get bloatware on your computer, and with that in mind, the Memory Doctor Pro is an okay option from what is otherwise a bad bunch.

PROS

  • A simple program for beginners
  • Convenient method for removing temporary files without restarting

CONS

  • A lack of in-depth customization will put people off
  • The free trial is too short
